Monthly car rental in Dubai: compare quotes, mileage and terms
Compare monthly car rental quotes in Dubai: total charges, hire periods, mileage allowances, deposits, insurance excess and early-return terms.

Monthly car rental in Dubai is easiest to compare through the written quote: the hire period, total rental charge, mileage allowance and cover. A low headline figure can leave more payable later, while a security deposit creates a separate upfront requirement.
For a new arrival, the month may span apartment viewings, work and weekend trips. A longer holiday may centre on one familiar hotel. Those routines create different daily mileage and parking needs.
01Three amounts to keep separate
| Amount | What it covers | Comparison point |
|---|---|---|
| Rental charge | Hire, tax, mandatory fees and selected extras | Same dates, category and cover |
| Security | A card hold or charged deposit | Amount, payment method and release terms |
| Usage costs | Fuel, parking, tolls and excess mileage | Your expected distance and journeys |
02The price is more than the monthly rate
Alongside matching dates and vehicle categories, the comparison needs the same collection location and chosen cover. The full written quote should distinguish charges already included from those payable later. Refundable security affects available money or credit, but is not itself a rental charge.
Avis UAE's published terms illustrate why the details matter: airport, delivery and registration charges have separate provisions, and Salik crossings carry an administration charge.
03Thirty days and a calendar month differ
A fixed 30-day period is not always the same as returning on the corresponding date next month. From 8 September to 8 October is 30 days; from 8 October to 8 November is 31, at matching times. The written start and return timestamps resolve that difference, along with the charge for an extra day.
Thrifty UAE's terms checked on 8 September 2026 apply a flat monthly charge to rentals lasting 22 to 30 days, without a proportional reduction. That is one provider's pricing rule, not a universal definition of a rental month.
rentalfinder.ae counts each started 24-hour period as one day. Monthly rental quotes need separate supplier confirmation.
04The allowance has to fit the routine
Thrifty's Dubai and Northern Emirates table, checked on 8 September 2026, lists a 2,500 km monthly allowance for the Nissan Sunny. This is a published allowance, not confirmation of a car's availability or a quoted rental price. Another car, branch or package may have different terms.
For illustration, a 60 km round-trip commute on 20 working days uses 1,200 km before errands or weekends. The comparison then becomes practical: expected total distance, included kilometres and the charge for each kilometre beyond them. Hertz also specifies capped monthly mileage, with the applicable details in the contract.
05A deposit affects the upfront budget
A card authorisation reserves credit; a charged deposit involves an actual payment. Release of a hold and refund of a payment are different processes, so the quoted amount, payment method and return timetable all matter. Avis describes a pre-authorisation that can include rental charges plus security, rather than just the advertised rental price.
A no-deposit arrangement may have its own cost. Thrifty's published option carries a non-refundable surcharge and is restricted to eligible UAE residents on monthly rentals and certain vehicle groups; a credit card remains required. Its conditions should not be assumed to apply to a visitor.
06Included cover can still leave an excess
The excess is the amount a renter may have to contribute towards a covered damage claim under the agreement. A collision damage waiver can limit that liability, but its scope and exclusions matter as much as its name. The useful comparison shows the included cover, remaining excess and cost of any optional protection.
Hertz UAE's additional-waiver page requires a valid police report and identifies exceptions including tyres, windscreen damage and lost keys. Broader cover therefore does not mean every incident is covered. Those are Hertz's published conditions; another supplier's agreement needs its own reading.
07When the month becomes shorter or longer
An earlier flight or delayed move can change the calculation. Hertz's terms allow repricing when the rental period changes and specify higher applicable rates after early termination of a monthly contract. An unused day is therefore not automatically a day's refund at the monthly average.
The return arrangements deserve the same attention as collection: the agreed time, location, fuel level and recorded vehicle condition. Written extension terms and a documented handover make the final bill easier to reconcile with the original quote.

Common questions
Is monthly rental always cheaper?
No saving is guaranteed. The relevant comparison is the complete cost for the same dates and expected distance, including any charges triggered by changing the rental period.
Is the deposit the insurance excess?
No. Security held against possible charges and liability for damage serve different purposes. The deposit is not automatically the limit of what could be owed.
